SNOW SHOES : “ELS RASOS DE PEGUERA”
Rasos de Peguera, in the Berguedà, is an emblematic place closely linked to snow sports in the Principality of Catalonia.
It was the scene of the first skiing in the country, and the closest ski resort to Barcelona until 2004.
Every winter, when the mountain turns white, it is filled with people from Berguedà, who come to practice snowshoeing, mountain skiing, or just enjoy the snow.
Nowadays in disuse, the facilities of the old station continue guarding this ideal place for the practice of the snowshoes in the Berguedà; of routes we do not lack, and there are them for all the levels.
We put on the snowshoes and go out to climb to the peaks closest to Rasos de Peguera, or we go down to the abandoned village of Peguera, a vestige of a splendid past in the Berguedà region.
In addition to the stories linked to the snow, bandits, and later maquis have filled this region with history, and there are many more!
Without a doubt, if you want to practice snowshoeing in Berguedà, this is the place for you.
